The Downside of Pediatrics

It's 1:55 AM, and I'm awake for 2 reasons:

1. I'm coughing so hard that my chest hurts, and what I'm coughing up matches my green scrubs.
2. I'm checking on labs while I'm on call. If I don't check these labs, kids could get hurt, and my attending will yell at me in the morning. Neither of those is a particularly enjoyable thought.

Did I mention that over the last 15 hours, I have totally lost my voice? I can't wait to go home tomorrow and indulge in the Nyquil.
